THEATRE LIGHTING COLIN D. YOUNG has designed the lighting for more than 125 theatre and dance shows, including premieres by Edward Albee, Allan Knee, Ariane Mnouchkine and Ariel Dorfman, with directors like Chris McElroen, James Houghton, John Clancy and Robert O'Hara. Recent highlights include Off-Broadway and US tour productions of Outer Critics circle winner In The Continuum, The Classical Theater of Harlem's Obie Award winning production of Jean Genet's The Blacks: A Clown Show and Crazy Locomotive (2003 Vivian Robinson/Audelco Award – Best Lighting Design), John Clancy's Fatboy (Winner of a 2004 Edinburgh Fringe First), The Jazz Age by Allan Knee, and several shows for Reverie Productions, including Ariel Dorfman's Widows, Rearviewmirror, Billboard, American Ma(u)l, Valerie Shoots Andy and Brave Brood (NYC and Berkeley). Colin was the founding technical director and lighting supervisor for the New York International Fringe Festival, has directed Reverie’s radio plays Don’t Panic! and War of the Worlds, and his translation and adaptation of Beowulf is slated for a workshop as part of Reverie's WET INK fetival of new plays March 6-7, 2009, and then 2010 production. Colin is a co-founder of Reverie Productions, and is a graduate of Duke University and the Yale School of Drama. |
